Nicolas Ghesquiere is known for his successful works at Balenciaga, takes us as the creative director of the house of Louis Vuitton on a new time journey. Nicolas has introduced himself in using the traces of the past with new references, making us watch a fashion show with almost musical taste. When the show starts, in the background, a very beautiful painting that perfectly represents the past quarter-century, greets us. Let me say this is a living painting, too. Because about two hundred fashionable ladies and gentlemen who came to visit us from the past to the present also sang, which was fairly mind-blowing. Also, they felt like we were in a courtroom because they were seated in a vertical bank of rows. During the show, as if they weren't the people of this time they didn't come out of that courtroom frame. This was enough to make us feel the age difference between us.
As for the designs, we can see the traces of the past in designs in the forms of the future. While Nicolas gave us vintage feelings with a sequined leather jacket and pants, also kept an eye on the future, with fabrics in glossy textures that appeared like protective shells. The designs between the past and the future deliver also masculinity with the vintage striped suits. Patterns bearing the traces of the past are revived in innovative silhouettes and fabrics. Technical outerwear combined with skirts with large proportions made of tulle, also new graphic patterns are added to leather designs and a future effect has been created.
The fashion show-closing was as impressive as the opening; the living painting in the background stagnates for a moment and returns to real life. It seems that this beautiful show will continue to be talked about for a while.
